1. The Holy Bible (Various Editions)
The Bible isn’t just a book—it’s the living
Word of God. It’s the foundation of everything I believe and do. No Christian
book list is complete without it.
“Your
word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
Whether you’re reading the KJV, NKJV, ESV, Amplified,
or another faithful translation, the Bible remains the ultimate guide to life,
purpose, salvation, and spiritual growth.
2. “Growing Up Spiritually” by Kenneth E. Hagin (1976)
This book introduced me to the stages
of Christian growth in a clear and Biblical way. Hagin writes with simplicity,
yet the depth of spiritual insight is undeniable. Whether you’re a new believer
or a long-time follower of Christ, this book helps identify where you are
spiritually—and how to grow further.
3. “Iniquity” by Ana Mendez Ferrell (2009)
This isn’t a light read—but it’s a
necessary one. Ana exposes the hidden roots of generational sin and how
iniquity affects believers today. For those serious about deliverance, freedom,
and breaking destructive spiritual cycles, this book is eye-opening and
powerful.
4. “How to See in the Spirit” by Michael Van Vlymen (2013)
Also known more popularly under
various titles such as “The School of the Seers”, Michael’s book
explores the Biblical reality of spiritual sight. It’s filled with testimonies
and practical encouragement for those desiring a deeper walk with God in the
supernatural. This book stirred a deep hunger in me for more of the unseen
realm.
5. “Eyes of Honor” by Jonathan Welton (2012)
In a world saturated with impurity, this
book redefines what it means to walk in purity and identity. Jonathan invites
us to see others the way God sees them—with honor. If you’re struggling with
shame, lust, or broken identity, this book is like a healing balm rooted in
Scripture.
Bonus 1: “70 Reasons for Speaking in Tongues: Your Own Built-in Spiritual Dynamo” by Dr. Bill Hamon (2010)
Dr.
Hamon lays out 70 powerful reasons—ranging from Biblical evidence to personal
and ministry benefits—for the often misunderstood gift of praying in tongues.
It serves as both encouragement and practical guidance for Spirit-filled
believers to deepen their prayer life and activate faith in new dimensions.
Bonus 2: “In Tongues: Beyond the Upper Room” by Kenneth E. Hagin (2007)
Hagin
invites readers to step beyond the celebrated “Upper Room” experience of the
first believers into deeper communion with God’s presence. Through scriptural
teaching and personal stories, he addresses common objections and
misconceptions about tongues and demonstrates how this supernatural gift
unlocks greater spiritual intimacy and power.
Bonus 3: “The Walk of the Spirit – The Walk of Power: The Vital Role of Praying in Tongues” by Dave Roberson (1999)
Drawing
from his personal spiritual journey, Roberson illuminates how praying in
tongues transforms believers’ walk with God. Filled with real-life stories and
practical teaching, this book positions tongues as a foundational gateway to
spiritual gifts and deeper revelation.
Note:
These bonus books help a believer to develop faith to pray to Jesus for the
baptism with the Holy Spirit, which is evidenced by speaking in tongues—just as
recorded in Acts chapter 2. They helped me to speak in tongues, in line
with the pattern described in Acts chapter 2. Speaking in tongues is one
of the signs of a believer, as mentioned by Saint Mark in the Gospel of Mark,
chapter 16. Therefore, it is both necessary and something every believer should
earnestly seek.
Final Thoughts
These
books have not only deepened my understanding of God but also changed how I
